Posted: Wed 3:38 pm Post subject: Windows 7 I had to completely remove any trace of the failed install and start fresh using the path "C:\1MSTS", where C is my harddrive. any add-ons also MUST be installed as administrator.ģ. msts, MUST be installed in win 7 as administrator!!!Ģ. I've been away for awhile, my brother was in an accident. I hope that you were able to get msts working. It reads the disc so far then hangs on a random file. I ran one activity for about a minute just to make sure everything was working and there didn't seem to be a problem. I didn't follow any of the instructions from train-sim just did it the old fashion way but as the admin and it worked. What I did is I went to the CD, did a right click on the setup.exe and selected Run as Administrator and everything installed with no problem. Hi Mike, now I am not sure if I was just lucky but I just installed MSTS on Windows 7 machine. I'm sure it is something I am not doing or am doing wrong in the instructions.
OK, I still can't get the program to install. I'll install it that way later today after my docs appointments. That tutorial should answer any questions. There is a good instruction message over at Train-Sim about installing MSTS with Windows7. Are you doing the install as the admin? You can do a right click on the install program and select run as administrator (assuming you have given yourself that access).
